Big jumps in titles.
It’s true that people can win big promotions. In most cases, though, they will get promoted along a slower career track. A huge step, for instance, from a receptionist to an executive manager, without an explanation on the cover letter, can therefore be cause for concern. In these cases, it’s a good idea to investigate and find out the reason for the jump.
